Trinity GESE 2 & GESE 5 Exam Preparation
The Trinity GESE (Graded Examination in Spoken English) is a one-to-one oral exam with a Trinity examiner. We offer preparation courses at two levels:
1) Trinity GESE 2 (CEFR A1, beginner level)
This prepares students for the Grade 2 exam. A pass in the Grade 2 exam can be used with applications for UK Spouse/Partner visas - FLR(M) - and with application for Parents of Dependants visa - FLR(O). The Grade 2 exam runs for approximately 6 minutes.
2) Trinity GESE 5 (CEFR B1, intermediate level)
This prepares students for the Grade 2 exam. A pass in the Grade 2 exam can be used with applications for Indefinite Leave to Remain and Naturalisation as a British Citizen (Settlement). The Grade 5 exam runs for approximately 10 minutes.
The preparation courses for the Trinity GESE Grade 2 and Grade 5 exams are 7.5 hours in duration. The courses will help you develop the communication skills you need to pass the Trinity exam.
The Trinity GESE Grade 2 course will develop the speaking and listening skills needed to:
- understand and respond to simple questions
- respond to simple requests and statements
- use a basic range of words and expressions to talk about yourself and familiar situations
- ask for basic personal information
The Trinity GESE Grade 5 course will develop the speaking and listening skills needed to:
- respond appropriately to examiner questions
- give information about a prepared topic
- participate in an informal discussion
- clarify and give reasons
Trinity GESE 2 Preparation 7.5
This is a 7.5 hour per week course which runs Monday to Friday from 1.15pm - 2.45pm. This course runs all year round, subject to fixed course start dates
- Course length, between 1 and 11 weeks = £80 per week
- Course length, 12 weeks or more = £70 per week
Trinity GESE 5 Preparation 7.5
This is a 7.5 hour per week course which runs Monday to Friday from 1.15pm - 2.45pm. This course runs all year round, subject to fixed course start dates
- Course length, between 1 and 11 weeks = £80 per week
- Course length, 12 weeks or more = £70 per week
Trinity GESE 2 Preparation plus General English 15
This is a 22.5 hour per week course which combines the 7.5 hour GESE 2 preparation course described above with a General English 15 hour course.
- Course length, between 1 and 11 weeks = £180 per week
- Course length, 12 weeks or more = £170 per week
Trinity GESE 5 Preparation plus General English 15
This is a 22.5 hour per week course which combines the 7.5 hour GESE 5 preparation course described above with a General English 15 hour course.

- Course length, 12 weeks or more = £170 per week
