General & Business English (25 hrs/wk)
Learning Business English is much more than simply learning some industry-specific vocabulary, it is about learning transferable skills, adapting to new working environments, working across language and cultural barriers. This full-time course offers students who are intending to work in the UK or abroad the language and communications skills required to achieve success in their current and future professional life.
What will I study?
There are 25 hours of classes each week: 15 hours of General English in the mornings and 10 hours of Business English in the afternoons. General English
- The four skills (speaking, listening, reading & writing)
- The four systems(grammar, vocabulary, functions & pronunciation)
- Strong emphasis on practical, every day communication
- Regular feedback sessions to discuss your needs with your teacher
- Regular progress testing
- Core business communication skills: meetings, negotiations, presentations, telephoning, reports, email
- Transferable skills relevant to a range of business backgrounds e.g. management, finance, sales and marketing, tourism and hospitality
- Topics appropriate to international business e.g. cross-cultural relations, human resources, globalisation, web2.0, developing markets, recession & growth
What materials will I use?
We use only the latest Textbooks and Audio from major ELT publishers and supplement these with Video, DVD, CD-ROMs, online resources, and authentic materials. Our experienced teachers also create their own materials for classes depending on the students' interests. The cost of materials is approximately £30 every 12 weeks.
Availability
Please note this course is only open to students of an intermediate level or above. Students must be 18 years old and should have business experience. Also, you must study for a 4 week period, e.g. 4, 8, 12, 16 weeks. Students must be 18 years old.
