General English & Writing Workshop (25 hrs/wk)
Preparing for Acacemic English?
This is a full-time course that combines the general skills needed to live and study in the UK with special academic writing classes. This course is designed for Pre-Intermediate students who intend to progress on to our IELTS Preparation or Academic English courses but need to improve their basic writing skills. If your level is Intermediate you can start on our IELTS Preparation courses or our Academic English course (from March to May). If your level is Pre-Intermediate. You will find out your level when you take our online placement test. You will be sent instructions how to take our online placement test after you complete your application form.
What will I study each week?
In addition to the General English Intensive course (22.5 hours per week) you will join a special Academic Writing class on Monday afternoon. Some possible topics include:
- Layout and formatting
- Punctuation and complex sentences
- Paragraphing and topic sentences
- Essay structure and signposting
- Academic vocabulary for linking ideas
Availability
