What is the General English & TOEIC Preparation Course?

This is a full-time course that combines the general skills needed to live and study in the UK with special TOEIC exam preparation classes. The TOEIC exam is one of the world's most popular tests of Business and Professional English and ideal for those looking for work in an English speaking environment. Each week you will attend 27.5 hours of lessons as shown below:

Mon-Fri Mornings	09:00-12:15	General English

Tues, Wed, Thurs Afternoon	13:15-16:00	Reading, Writing, Speaking Workshops

What is TOEIC?

The TOEIC Test (the Test of English for International Communication) is designed for students looking for an internationally recognised qualification for Business and Professional English for use in the UK or abroad. The TOEIC test was developed in 1979 to measure proficiency in business English, at intermediate to advanced levels. It is a standard measure of workplace English language proficiency world wide, and it is a valuable credential for professionals. The test is highly reliable; scores are always accurate and consistent.

Glasgow School of English became an Approved TOEIC test centre in 2007. We offer TOEIC preparation courses and tests. Further information about the test, including sample test questions, can be seen on the TOEIC website.

Where can I take the TOEIC exam?

The TOEIC examination can be taken at Glasgow School of English. The exam takes place once a month and you must apply at least two weeks before the test date. Our current test fee is £90 and this can be booked online with your course. Please note, you may sit the examination without attending the preparation course.

Availability

• Course begins Monday 29th March 2010
• Start date every month
• Must study for a 4 week period, e.g. 4, 8, 12 weeks
• Minimum level = Intermediate

Students can attend General English Intensive until they reach the required level.
